Axosoft Team Building: Much Love, Many Bruises

Working at Axosoft has numerous perks. I mean there are catered lunches, weekly workout classes, tons of snacks, and our sacred Super Smash Bros skirmishes in the library. Everyone gets to be themselves, and apply their brilliant, energetic minds to the challenges we meet everyday. On top of all this, we recently had the opportunity to close shop, hop on a bus, and make our way to Prescott, AZ for a day of team building fun.

Paintball. What better way to tap your inner child (or demon) than to shoot people with non-lethal balls of fish oil? Now initally…we sucked. We were craptastic, really. But what else could we expect when no one was communicating?

The games begin.

However by the second game, teams were strategizing, sending signals, and making the competition much more lively and entertaining. It just goes to show you what can happen when you pause—and chat for a bit. I was truly impressed by the feats of courage many coworkers displayed. So much sacrifice. So many bruises.

Bruise in the leg? High five bro!

Say hello to team "Pet Cemetery."

The most challenging part of the day came later when we dared to try the “Leap of Faith.” To participate in this activity, you had to climb to the top of a 25-foot wooden pole aaaaand jump. Speaking from experience, the breeze feels VERY UNSETTLING when you’re up there. I almost fell off just trying to get my two feet on top of the pole (it’s requires way more balance than you would think)!

Don't jump! Or...actually yeah go ahead and just jump.

Of course, we also had a climbing wall, zip line and other games. I’ll just let the media do the talking.

Zzzzzzzzzip

The breeze also is stronger up there. Kudos to these two.

Yay boosted heart rate!

The end of the day was the best part. We got in a circle for shout-outs to different members of the team. It was the perfect conclusion to a day of growth. We got that warm fuzzy feeling  you can only get when you’re a member of a strong, tight-knit community. It’s like we leveled up together, and it was awesome.

Look at them pearly whites.

Now, if you’re reading this and you (or a friend) feel inspired to apply for a position with Axosoft then check out our careers page. We’d love to see what you’ve got!
